Claire’s ShimmerVille
Claire’s Shimmerville was the first game I produced. I took over during its live-ops phase, overseeing the creation of UGC, gameplay updates, and new questlines. Eventually, I began to design updates and write quests.
Designing Updates
When I took over the lead-producing role, the game had already been designed and shipped. Eventually, I would design updates that had to fit into the existing framework. We had a limited budget for this project, but we often found ways to reuse assets and create stories with them. Since I was also producing ShimmerVille, which gave me a good overview of what we had to work with, I could design updates that efficiently reworked assets, “reskinned” mechanics, and hit client expectations.
